Best Laid Plans

Sorry that we have not posted anything since Sunday when we started our adventure, but we are still at my house. We left Sunday morning about 6:00am and had bike problems before we got to Farmerville. With the help of some amazing friends (more on that later), we got the bike repaired and came back to my house for some rest and a fresh start this morning (Monday). We left my house about 5:30am this morning and got as far west as Grambling on I20 before a re-appearance of an electrical problem. We are taking Curt's bike to a dealer tomorrow and are working on a revised plan. At least I've been able to clear up some of the network problems that cropped up at my house before we left. We will update everyone as soon as we get out of Louisiana, or Curt gets ready to spin his tale of woe.
BTW, one of Curt's granddaughters has dubbed him Grumpy Bear, so this adventure is now going to be Grumpy Bear and Big Bear's Great Adventure. We hope to break 100 miles away from home before the week is out. Keep your fingers crossed and your prayers are certainly appreciated.
BB (GB will be allowed to add to this after he exits his deep two wheeled travel withdrawal depression...but BB will have final editorial approval).

  1. Like a boomerang, they just keep turning back up at the house!!!

A biker friend of Ray's stopped by the house to wish them well the Saturday before their original departure date, his comment was something like "you know it's not an adventure if everything goes according to plan". Thanks a lot Bill! I think this officially qualifies as an adventure... now if they can just get out of Louisiana!!

  2. Sounds like my kind of trip. So Suzie told me she got a txt from BB today that GB's new one is black. Guess that means he will really enjoy the trip now. Have fun guys and be careful. RW
